SPRING TAKES FLIGHT: EASTER ADVENTURES WITH PAGOSA ADVENTURE

Graphic Comic Strip

“Up, Up, and Away with the Easter Bunny!”

It was just after sunrise on Easter Sunday, and the Pagosa Adventure balloon crew was sipping coffee and prepping for an early morning flight when something… unusual hopped into the launch field.

Wearing a pastel vest, a polka-dotted bowtie, and carrying a wicker basket stuffed with jellybeans, there stood the Easter Bunny himself.

“Mind if I hitch a ride?” he asked with a wink.

Not one to turn down a little holiday magic, our pilot nodded. “Of course! But you’ll need to help with the inflation.”

With surprising skill, the Easter Bunny grabbed a crown line, fluffed out the envelope, and helped the crew bring our balloon to life. As the burners roared and the basket lifted, the Bunny gave a gleeful cheer, ears flopping in the wind.

We soared around snow-kissed mountains and winding rivers, the valley below just beginning to wake up.

From above, we spotted sleepy rooftops, grass-peaking its head through the snow, and—strangely—tiny colored eggs glinting in the morning sun across backyards and parks. The Easter Bunny giggled every time he saw a child racing through snow with a basket in hand.

High above the world, he pulled out a pouch of “aerodynamic jellybeans” and offered them to the guests. “Only safe to eat above 1,000 feet,” he joked. They tasted like lemon, lavender, and a little bit of sky.

As we began our descent, the Bunny leaned over the edge of the basket, waved to the town below, and tossed out tiny parachute eggs—each one marked with a golden sticker: “Hoppy Easter”

Touching down in a meadow, he gave each guest a chocolate egg, thanked the crew, and—with a puff of confetti and a wink—vanished into the pine trees, off to finish his deliveries.

The crew stood in awe, smiling, sugar-rushed and slightly confused.

It was, without a doubt, the most magical Easter morning we’ve ever flown.
