Every fall, the skies above Farmington come alive with colorful hot air balloons during the Four Corners Balloon Rally. This year, you don’t have to experience the magic entirely from the ground—Pagosa Adventure is offering a limited number of paid passenger flights during the rally.
The 2026 Four Corners Balloon Rally takes place September 25–27. The three-day celebration includes morning balloon ascensions, evening balloon glows, vendors, music, and activities throughout Farmington.

There is something unforgettable about standing inside a balloon basket as the burner roars overhead and the ground slowly falls away beneath you.
From the air, Farmington reveals an entirely different personality. The green river corridors, neighborhoods, high-desert mesas, distant mountains, and wide-open New Mexico landscape stretch out in every direction.
Farmington sits at the meeting point of the San Juan, Animas, and La Plata rivers and is surrounded by the dramatic high-desert terrain that makes the Four Corners region so distinctive.
Unlike an airplane tour, a balloon does not follow a predetermined route. We travel with the wind, which means every flight is different. Your pilot can control the balloon’s altitude, but the morning breeze determines where the adventure takes us and where we ultimately land.
That unpredictability is part of the magic.
Pagosa Adventure plans to offer passenger flights during all three mornings of the rally:
The rally’s opening ascension is scheduled for 7:00–9:00 a.m. at Lake Farmington, located at 8020 East Main Street. The lake-access fee will be waived during the ascension, and event shuttles will transport spectators from designated parking areas.
Watching balloons reflected across the lake is beautiful. Floating above it in a balloon basket is something else entirely.

Saturday’s morning ascension is scheduled for 7:00–9:00 a.m. at Animas Valley Mall, located at 4601 East Main Street.
The day concludes with an evening balloon glow from 6:00–8:00 p.m. at the Farmington Civic Center Plaza.

The final rally ascension is scheduled for 7:00–9:00 a.m. at Animas Valley Mall. It is one last opportunity to see Farmington’s sky fill with balloons—or to climb aboard and become part of the spectacle yourself.
Your Pagosa Adventure experience includes:
Please plan for approximately 2½–3 hours for the complete experience, including passenger briefing, inflation, flight, recovery, and the post-flight celebration.
For safety, passengers must:
Please contact us before booking if you have questions about mobility, recent surgery, pregnancy, or another medical consideration that could affect your ability to fly safely.
Passenger flights during the Four Corners Balloon Rally are $250 per person.
Space is extremely limited. Balloon capacity depends on passenger weights, temperature, elevation, and the morning’s flying conditions, so advance reservations are strongly recommended.
All balloon flights are weather-dependent.
Our pilots evaluate wind direction, wind speed, visibility, temperature, and landing options before every launch. A clear sky does not automatically mean conditions are safe for ballooning, and the pilot’s decision is always final.
If Pagosa Adventure cancels your flight because of weather, your payment is refundable.
Watching dozens of balloons rise over Farmington is memorable. Rising into the New Mexico sky alongside them is an experience you will talk about for years.
Paid passenger rides are limited, and reservations are required.
